Leaving school and choosing a career path can feel overwhelming and uncertain. Finding a job is challenging for everyone, but it can be even harder for those with disabilities, such as autism, intellectual and other disabilities. You might experience anxiety, low self-esteem, fear of rejection or failure, and a lack of confidence. However, it doesn’t have to be this way. Hundreds of school leavers with disabilities have found their ideal career pathways with the help of professionals, and it’s completely free for eligible young people thanks to government support. SLES (School Leaver Employment Supports) is a support program funded by the NDIS to help young people transition from school to employment.
